I’ve been promising for a while now to create a video showing how to use Power Point to create your own graphics.  We all know that the image we create for ourselves online can make or break us.  Having consistent graphics throughout all of your Social Media platforms is one way that you can portray a professional image.  You may not think that graphics are a big deal when it comes to your business, but they do play a roll in how people perceive you.

So sit back, relax and enjoy this tutorial on creating great graphics for your Blog or Social Media platforms.  (I have used my laptop to create this video because it is the computer that I have Microsoft Office on.  The problem with recording a video on my laptop is any keystrokes are very loud and bothersome … so I am apologizing in advance for the ‘tapping’ of the keys :D .) You may know the iFrame Engine App as ‘FanPage Engine’.  With Facebook’s switch to the iFrame format, FanPage Engine introduced iFrame Engine with all of the same great features as FanPage Engine.  I must warn you that this is a paid application and the link to iFrame Engine in the previous sentence is an affiliate link.

In this video, you will see the packages available with iFrame Engine, including the recently introduced FREE version which allows you to create one tab on one Facebook Page with limited modules.  If you want to create multiple tabs on multiple Pages, you will need to purchase the package that fits your needs.  Watch the video and see how easy iFrame Engine is to use as I edit one of my existing landing tabs. With all the panic over Facebook’s change to the iFrames format for creating landing tabs subsiding, I wanted to take a few minutes to show you just how easy it is to create your own landing tabs for your Facebook Page.  The app that I am using in this video is called Static HTML: iFrame Tabs.  The reason I recommend this particular app is that it is very easy to use and the support offered by the developers on their Facebook Page is exceptional.

So click play, and see for yourself just how easy this is … Continue reading »

For the first time since I started this Blog in June 2010, I’ve gone about a month without posting.  So, the question is, where have I been and what have I been up to?

Most of that time has been taken up by packing up a 3 storey house and moving.  I know, incredibly boring right?  But the other thing that has been taking up my time has been exciting (at least to me it has).  I have just launched my Graphic Design business – Online Marketing Vibe.

Wow … there seems to be a bit of a frenzy over the new Facebook iFrames taking over from the Static FBML App.  Please … don’t panic.  The changes are actually very positive.  ‘iFrame’  or ‘inline frame’ is simply an HTML code that allows you to embed any web page within another web page (Facebook).  The main difference between FBML and iFrame is that Facebook will no longer be ‘hosting’ the landing page content.  iFrame also gives you many more tools and capabilities.

It is important to note that your current custom FBML landing tabs will continue to work for about another 6 months.  There is time to switch your landing pages over to the new format.  As of today, March 11, 2011, you will no longer be able to add the Static FBML Application to your Facebook Pages.  However, if you already have the application, you can continue to use it until sometime towards the end of the year.  A specific date is yet to be announced.  Keep in mind that this is a time of transition and many companies are in the process of creating and testing iFrame apps.  It might be a good idea to wait a little while before tackling the upgrade to iFrame in order to give developers an opportunity to fine tune these applications. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been watching some of my Network Marketing team members literally sky rocket up through the rankings.  If you are anything like me, you have experienced a lot of skepticism from your warm market and have chosen to take the online approach to building your business to avoid that skepticism and doubt.  What I have been seeing in my team has convinced me that I am making a very poor business decision in ignoring that warm market. To become successful in Network Marketing, you have to possess leadership skills and you must develop leaders on your team.  You don’t want to ‘manage’ your team, you want to ‘lead’ your team.  Leaders are able to trigger our imaginations, inspire important ideas, and recruit our energies for great and noble purposes.  In short, leaders are individuals who are able to influence others.  Leaders must earn the respect, trust and allegiance of their team. Facebook began to roll out the new changes to Facebook Pages today.  I took some time to play around with the new format and made a quick video to give you a tour of 5 cool highlights of the new Facebook Pages.  Some of the changes are going to be a huge benefit to online marketers.  Check it out:  Continue reading »

The new Facebook profile has five thumbnails across the top of your profile page.  You can use these thumbnails to create a banner effect on your profile page, either of a cool scene or picture, or an actual advertisement banner.  If you have Photoshop, you can create this effect quite easily.  This video takes you through the process of creating the thumbnails in Photoshop and adding them to your profile page’s thumbnails.
